Our mission

  1. 1.To support the children to receive education and teach them self-sufficiency and responsibility for their own future.

  2. 2.To take care of shelter for those children who have no home.

  3. 3.To achieve selfsufficiency for our Yayasan Widya Sari, to be able to operate independently, within the WINS vision.

About Us

Yayasan Teratai Kasih is an Indonesian non-profit organisation, established in 2009 in the village of Tonjong, in the region Bogor, West Java, Indonesia.

Our Yayasan is established in a cooperation between the two Dutch non profit organisations: Stichting WINS Nederland and Stichting Waterleliefonds.

Self sufficency.

One of the WINS policies is that each Learning Center must eventually become self-sufficient and be able to cover its own daily operational costs without ongoing assistance from WINS.

To achieve this goal we have setup our own business ’ Teratai Motor’, which includes the following components:

  1. -a motorcycle repairshop

  2. -buying and selling motorcycles,

  3. -two showroom

In short time we have proven to be able to make profit, and we are confident that we can be selfsufficient and not be reliable on donations forever.

We are proud of our achievements.

The team of Yayasan Teratai Kasih

My name is Alex Suwanda,  I live in the town of Bogor,  and I am the chairman of Yayasan Teratai Kasih (YTK) in the village of Tonjong.

The community of Tonjong are very poor, the children can not attend school because the parents  cannot afford to pay for the education costs, and often these children have to work to help their parents  to be able to pay for the daiy living costs.

From the Dutch Waterleliefonds we receive sponsorship funds and other donations, so we can help these children and handicapped children with their education.

We work together with Stichting WINS, who helped and tought us to setup and Manage the yayasan, and support us in the operational educatuion costs.

WIth the help from a Dutch sponsor, we have recently set up a motorcycle showroom and we are now seting up a second showroom, a motorcycle. These projects are setup as micro finenced projects, by which we can help the local community, with jobs. And with the profit we make we can help more children.

I am 58 years age, and I do my job with pleasure, and  I find it so wonderful to see how eager and motivated the children are to learn.

And it is good to see that more and more children from the area are coming to join our classes.

Help us to help our children to realize their dreams.
